Mask - Guere Culture - Ivory Coast Height: 33 cm Impressive Guere mask from Ivory Coast The face is hard, the gaze is piercing, the half-opened mouth is menacing, this is a so-called ‘savage’ artwork. Much strength emanates from this mask. The volumes are skilfully processed and typical of the masks of this culture. The mask is adorned with bronze bells, metal teeth or claws and human hair. A nail is planted on the top of the skull. A beautiful, antique and authentic collectors’ piece. circa 1920 Bronze custom-made stand.
