Maslyanino Meteorite End Cut Iron - IAB Complex Novosibirsk Region, Russia - (54° 20'N, 84°12'E) Found: 1992 Another, but lesser well-known, meteorite from Russia, Maslyanino is a fine octahedrite that consists of a metallic base filled with grainy, brownish colored blebs. This representation is an irregular wedge that has two polished surfaces filled with large and small inclusions against an etched silver background with a subtle Widmanstätten pattern. The underside of this specimen is natural, rough, and brownish in hue, and this most unusual form is a seemingly common way to display a piece of one uncommon meteorite. Overall Measurements: 5.25 x 2.35 x 1.93 inches (13.33 x 5.98 x 4.90 cm), weighs 755 grams [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
