Matched set of six George IV Scottish silver King's pattern table spoons
A matched set of six George IV Scottish silver table spoons, in King's pattern and initial engraved. Five hallmarked F & Ss, Edinburgh, four dated 1827 and one dated 1825, and the sixth spoon hallmarked James McKay, Edinburgh 1825. Weight 14.54ozt (452.4g).
Condition Report:
- All with engraved initial 'A' to each terminal
- All spoons displaying some general surface wear, marks, scratches and tarnishing commensurate with their age and use
- With some minor surface nicks
- Bowls have faired quite well overall; showing some heavier scratches and nicks with minor dints to some, and slightly heavier wear around edges and tips
- Hallmarks located to reverse of terminals, all clearly legible with some minor rubbing
- Maker's mark F & Ss is possibly Franklin & Sons (also known as E Franklin & Co)
- Lengths vary slightly from just under 22cm to 22.5cm
