Mate

Historical brown gourd mate fully engraved in three horizontal bands, the lower and upper ones decorated with leaf guards and the central one decorated as a frieze "Argentine and Uruguayan pavilions, cannons, horseman, soldiers, palm tree, sabre, palm tree and Phrygian cap" and inscriptions "Pay-Sandu February 1845" and "Vicente Nubel", belonging to the political chief Vicente Nuevell (1803-1881). Plain silver base. Carved silver ferrule "garland of leaves and flowers", with "dove" carved on the upper rim. Height 15 cm. Diameter 6.5 cm. Ex Prof. Schulkin collection.
Histórico mate en calabaza marrón totalmente burilada en tres franjas horizontales, la inferior y superior decoradas con guardas de hojas y la central decorada a manera de friso "pabellones argentino y uruguayo, cañones, jinete, soldados, palmera, sable, palma y gorro frigio" e inscripciones "Pay-Sandu Febrero 1845" y "Vicente Nubel", perteneciente al jefe político Vicente Nuevell (1803-1881). Base en plata lisa. Virola en plata cincelada "guirnalda de hojas y flores", con "paloma" esculturada en borde superior. Alto 15 cm. Diámetro 6.5 cm. Ex colección Prof. Schulkin.
