To celebrate Dior's 48th birthday in 1995, Mattel released a limited edition Barbie doll wearing a Dior dress designed by Gianfranco Ferre in 1993.

She wears a magnificent and exquisite, gold, black and red metallic brocade dress with beads and rhinestones. She was the first to have the designer label on the inside of the dress and the dress is also non-removable. The dress is sewn on Barbie for a perfect fit.
This design is a true work of art after a design by Gianfranco Ferre, who designed for Dior at the time. The original version is still in the Musee Grevin in Paris after being worn by Jerry Hall on the Houte Couture runway in 1993. (See posted picture) .
