Mattie Schilders - Waterveld

[ translate ]

\Artist: Mattie Schilders
Technique: Acrylic on canvas\Signature: Hand signed
Nature as the greatest source of inspiration led Mattie Schilders to continuously deal with the theme of landscape in his most diverse capacity for a period of about eight years. First with Dutch landscapes, later American. The latter were of great significance to Mattie Painters through the many journeys through American desert areas. The great interest in various forms of modern music, the desire to give shape and colour to the relationship between sound and image, give rise to a new episode. The work of Mattie Schilders shows a development from a special kind of naturalism to an almost lyrical-abstract tone. He also uses a very expressive style with a very violent use of colour, especially after his trip to eastern Turkey, where a huge contrast between the natural beauty of the region and the remains of the past (remains of the ancient Armenian city of Ani) is visible. This work is from a private collection. Any damage and unevenness visible in the photos are part of the description. In case of shipment, Art Dumay reserves the right and the possibility to remove the glass so that a good shipment can be guaranteed at any time. Viewing of the lot is always possible. All contact information can be found on our own website.
