In 1877, with the assistance of M. Foiret, engineer of the Arts and Manufactures, having himself started at the Paris Gas Company, is created the Company for the production of meters and gas plant equipment Nicolas, Chamon, Foiret and Cie. This company was interested, not only in manufacturing gas meters, but also, as specified in its company name, all the equipment for gas plants. In 1881, gas meters were still manufactured using quite artisanal means. Mr. Gabriel Chamon had the idea of making contact with its competitors, both French and foreign. He proposed that they got together to finance equipment for large presses that would allow him to organise a more industrial production. In May 1888, the Michel house was bought back; it had a great reputation in the manufacture of water meters, Frager system. After this take over, the production of gas meters was carried out in the factory on Avenue Claude-Vellefaux near the Gare du Nord. Water and electricity meters, as well as measuring devices, were manufactured boulevard de Vaugirard in the 15th arrondissement. The capital is increased from Fr4,000,000 to Fr700 0 000
