Maurice Guiraud-Rivière was born in Toulouse, France on February 10, 1881, and died in 1947. He was multitalented; a painter, draftsman, and sculptor.
He was a student at the Ecole Nationale des Beaux-Arts with Antonin Mercie also a native of Toulouse. Exhibited at the Salon of French Artists from 1907, and also at the Salon des Comedians.
He is best known as an Art Deco sculptor of numerous statues; mainly of women, sports figures, or of aviation and automotive themes.
