Item/Description: Magical and surrealist oil on board rendering of a fiddler on the roof under a night sky. Clinging to a rooster-tipped weather vein, the fiddler reaches for the moon, depicted as a plate! Whimsical and dreamlike, rare night scene. Artist signed lower right: Maurice Kish. Painted, gilded frame. Remnants of paper exhibition label dated December 1, 1962. Hanging hardware/wire. Maurice Kish (1895 - 1987) was active/lived in New York / Russian Federation.
