Maurice de VLAMINCK (1876–1968) Landscape in the Snow, oil on canvas, signed lower left, and countersigned on the back with the inscription “To G. Guettier, With warm regards, Vlaminck,” 33.5 x 41.5 cm. Georges Guettier was Maurice de Vlaminck’s notary and friend. Included is a handwritten letter from Vlaminck dated February 16, 1944, regarding a lunch at La Tourillière with his notary, as well as two books inscribed by the painter Vlaminck to Georges Guettier: "La Tête tournée," Maurice Vlaminck, Editions du Livre - André Sauret, 1956, hardcover edition, and "Vlaminck, sa vie et son message," Marcel Sauvage, Pierre Cailler, Geneva, 1956.
