Known today in the gem trade as "kosmochlore-jade", previously used names for maw-sit-sit in the West were jade-albite or chloromelanite. A metamorphic rock with a complex composition from Myanmar (Burma), the name maw-sit-sit is given by the local people. This is a mineral which has become increasingly sought-after in the last few years. The present stone has a rich color and has been well-polished. Weighing approximately 5.64 carats and measuring 17.50 x 17.67 x 2.35mm
