Watercolour over pencil on laid paper with crest and watermark "ZANDERS 1922" 57.2 x 46.4 cm Framed under glass. Signed 'MKaus' (joined) in pencil within the depiction lower right as well as dated and inscribed 'Arcona/ Juli 1921'. With a personal dedication from the artist to Hans Orlowski dated 1927 in lower margin; crossed out pencil annotation 'Unverk.' verso upper left. - Brown light-stain from former mat opening. Otherwise overall in fine condition.
After an initial partcipation at the Berlin Secession in 1918, the painter and graphic artist Hans Otto Orlowski (1894 - 1967) studied in Berlin under Philipp Franck; he later became a teacher and professor at the arts and crafts school.
