Max Le Verrier (French, 1891 - 1973)

Handsome cast bronze with brown patina equestrian head, attached to rectangular black marble with rounded corner base with felt underneath. Marked with M. Le Verrier cast signature, made in France and bronze lower side.

Louis Octave Maxime Le Verrier, known more commonly as Max Le Verrier, also known by the pseudonym Artus (1891–1973) was a French sculptor. He was known for being a pioneer within the Parisian Art Deco movement, creating decorative art objects often made in bronze as well as historical sculptures.

Condition: Very good, some soils and dust, minor scuffings.
