Condition Report:
The following condition report is prepared by Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc., an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's:

This work on Masonite is in very good condition. The bottom left corner of the Masonite has experienced some minor damage, and is now slightly rounded. The paint layer is clean and stable. A few small restorations can be seen when the work is examined under ultraviolet light inspection. A few very small dots of restoration have been added in the sky, including a 7-inch diagonal line in the top right sky. About a dozen small retouches can be seen in the bush in front of the cottage on the left side, and about a half dozen small dots can be seen in the reflection of the bush below the cottage on the right side. Restorations have been added to the thin black border around all four edges of the work, which extend slightly into the image along the bottom edge. These restorations are well applied and are still very effective. This painting is in very good condition and should be hung as is.

Framed Dimensions: 30 ½ by 26 ¼ in. (77.5 by 66.7 cm.)

Provenance:
Ralph A. Powers, Montville, Connecticut (acquired directly from the artist by 1965)

American Illustrators Gallery, New York

Acquired from the above in 2016 by the present owner
