Contemp. calf with red edges, gilt stamped spine label, rich spine gilt, and gilt stamped standing edges (bumped, partially rubbed, lower front joint cracking). - Count Maximilian Joseph von Lamberg (1729-1792) served as Grand Marshal of the Court, Privy Councillor, and Conference Minister to the Bishop of Augsburg. Between 1769 and 1771, he undertook an extensive journey to Italy, Corsica, and Tunis. His book 'Memorial d'un Mondain', which also includes numerous other texts on various subjects, describes this trip. - Marbled endpapers, half-title and one plate with some marginal foxing or water-staining, otherwise overall spotless and well preserved copy.
