Laren since the Mc. Laren F1 was released in 1992. The final design of the MP4-12C was first unveiled on 8 September 2009, after which the car went into production in 2011. The engine is a 3. 8L V8 twin-turbo M838T with 592 hp and 600 Nm of torque. The car is full of technology also used in Formula 1. The chassis is made entirely of carbon, the total weight is only 1,399 kg. The name of the car, MP4-12C, can be divided into three parts: "MP4" has been used on all Mc. Laren Formula 1 cars since 1981 and stands for "Mc. Laren Project 4". The "12" comes from the internal vehicle performance index, and the "C" refers to carbon (carbon) .
