L.I.) edge bruising to BWM, nearly very fine (6) £100-£140---Frank Gilbert Smith was born in Bristol in 1887, and attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry at Birmingham. He served with the 5th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front, and was killed in action on 3 May 1917. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.Ralph Giles Slaney attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry at Oxford on 11 September 1914 and served with the 4th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 29 March 1915.
