Kenning attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry and served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 29 November 1914.William Ewart Vallis was born in 1898, and attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry at Oxford on 29 January 1917. He served with them during the Great War on the Western Front from 2 June 1917, and subsequently transferred to the Labour Corps, and then the Royal Engineers.
