I.A.) good very fine (6) £120-£160---John James Peter Corbett was born at West Ham, London, in 1905 and attested for the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry, serving with the 2nd Battalion in Burma 1930-32. Advanced Company Quartermaster Sergeant, he was appointed to an Emergency Commission in the Indian Army on 6 April 1944, and was retrospectively awarded his Long Service and Good Conduct Medal as a Lieutenant and Honorary Captain, late Indian Army, in the London Gazette of 23 May 1958.
