Opera fondamentale per la storia della medicina in Piemonte dalle origini all'inizio del secolo XIX, divenuta introvabile e difficile da reperire completa, essendo stata pubblicata in fascicoli e in tempi distinti. Il contributo della scuola medica piemontese al progresso della medicina è illustrato da esaurienti notizie bio-bibliografiche su ogni autore. Il primo volume reca il ritratto di Giovanni Argenterio, il secondo, diviso in tre parti distinte, reca prima del Frontespizio il ritratto di Ambrogio Bertrandi. Il primo volume contiene anche le Lezioni accademiche di Prospero Balbo ‘intorno alla storia della Università di Torino’.

Very rare first edition. Fundamental work for the history of medicine in Piedmont from its origins to the beginning of the 19th century, which has become unobtainable and difficult to find complete, having been published in separate booklets and times. The contribution of the Piedmontese medical school to the progress of medicine is illustrated by exhaustive bio-bibliographic information on each author. The first volume bears the portrait of Giovanni Argenterio, the second, divided into three distinct parts, bears the portrait of Ambrogio Bertrandi before the titlepage. The first volume also contains Prospero Balbo's academic lessons 'on the history of the University of Turin'.
