DACIANO, Giuseppe. Trattato della Peste, et delle Petecchie, nel quale s'insegna il vero modo, che si dee tenere per preservarsi, & curare ciascuno oppresso da tali infirmità. Opera singolare, et due volte esperimentata nella Magnifica Città di Udine gli anni di nostro Sig. 1556. et 1572. Et più volte in diversi luoghi della patria del Friuli felicemente adoperata. In-4to, mm. 180 x 150. Later vellum binding with joins. Pp. (16), 152, printer’s mark on titlepage and woodcut ornaments in the text. Short of margins in the upper part, but nice copy.
Condition Report: First and only edition of this rare text by doctor Giuseppe Daciano from Udine, dedicated to the plague epidemics affecting the territory of Udine and Friuli in the mid-sixteenth century (1556, 1560, 1572), with the indication of sanitary provisions and curative practices then adopted by the author in his capacity as a doctor of the Community of Udine. At the beginning there are the Lettere Patenti dell'Officio della Sanità della Magnifica Città di Udine, in which the work of the Daciano is praised, lent "con fedeltà e amorevolezza".
