The writing box covers decorated in gold takamaki-e and togidashi maki-e with a shrine gateway among waves and a pine-covered shoreline, the details in kirikane and mura-nashiji, the interiors decorated with birds and flowers in gold maki-e on a rich nashiji ground, both boxes fitted with an ink stone and two brushes, one with an oval water dropper in silver; the gold lacquer box decorated in gold and silver takamaki-e on a kinji ground with a heron perched beside a boat in reeds, the interior fitted with two smaller boxes and a tray with floral and bird motifs (2)
