Meissen - E.A.Leuteritz - Plate - Sumptuous Ceremonial Plate First Choice - Hand-painted Porcelain

Beautiful antique Meissen porcelain cupboard plate, beautifully hand-painted, gold-trimmed, icon model by the great designer Ernst August Leuteritz (1818 - 1893) for Meissen Porzellan Manufaktur, in excellent condition.

The plate features a central large polychrome floral motif, within a shaped and cast gilt edge, set with three more flowers and gilt rocaille cartouches, on a white ground.

Painting flowers on porcelain has a long tradition at the Meissen factory, which has continuously grown over the centuries and continues to this day. It is known that floral motifs are rarer and more valuable. It is a must-have for all collectors.

It is in excellent condition, First Choice, little to no gold loss, marked with period Meissen blue crossed swords and numbered (not clearly visible) - please see photos as they are part of description.

Period: Germany, 1860 - 1880
