Meissen (German) Painted Porcelain Statuettes, Allegories of Day And Night, Ca. 1880, H 7" W 3" Depth 3" 2 pcs | the statuette depicting the day offers a golden crown with flowers and torch adjacent to a blooming sunflower. the statuette depicting the night offers a crown of stars adjacent to an owl. Each with incised numerical marks incised to the undersides with cobalt Meissen mark under glaze. Circa 1880. Provenance: Property inherited by descent, Harrisville, Michigan.

Condition Report: When viewed under UV light, inpainting fluoresced to the front-facing left side of the 'Night' cape. One star on 'Night' crown is chipped with associated loss.
