Meissen - Plate - Porcelain

[ translate ]

Impressive decorative piece in fine German porcelain, produced during the heyday of the Art Nouveau style (Jugendstil) , between the late 19th and early 20th centuries, approximately between 1890 and 1910, in 22-karat gold.
The piece stands out for exuberant floral decoration, rendered in relief, with motifs of flowers, leaves, and sinuous vines typical of Art Nouveau aesthetics. The composition is accentuated by an intense cobalt blue background, which elegantly contrasts with the white porcelain and the rich hand-applied gilding.
The wavy edge harmoniously follows the naturalistic design of the decoration, and the richness of the sculptural details demonstrates the artisanal mastery of the workshop that made the piece. The gilding shows remarkable brilliance and highlights every vegetal element of the composition.
The back bears relief decorations and a hand-painted blue underglaze mark. According to available information, the piece is attributed to Meissen, one of the most prestigious European porcelain manufactories, founded in 1710 in Germany. The style, execution technique, and quality of the decoration are characteristic of German luxury production of the Belle Époque period.
This piece represents an excellent example of German decorative art from the early 20th century and constitutes both a precious collecting object and a striking decorative element with high visual impact.
Due to age, the gilding is more faded in some parts, but all defects are visible in the photos.
