He trained at the school of fine arts in Olot, where he later taught, and at the Llotja in Barcelona. He was a favourite disciple and follower of Joaquim Vayreda, for whom he often prepared paintings. At the age of eighteen he exhibited individually in Barcelona. He cultivated the portrait and the religious theme (Buen Pastor, los Capuchinos de Olot) , but he was basically a landscaper, more synthetic than his teacher and contrary to everything that could hinder nature. Its morning backlights stand out. Chromatically his painting is characterised by the combination of greenish golds with reddish violets that has been called the “acuerdo Domenge”. He is well represented in the Museum of Olot.
