Mellerio dits Meller Collection of jewels, mid-19th century

Comprising: a bangle decorated with an engraved spray of lily-of-the-valley highlighted with seed pearls and rose diamonds, inner circumference approximately 155mm, maker's mark for Mellerio dits Meller, French assay marks for gold, fitted case stamped Mellerio dits Meller; a pendant decorated with a polychromous micro-mosaic scarab, on a gold mesh chain, length approximately 400mm, maker's mark for Mellerio dits Meller, French import mark for gold; and a brooch/pendant designed as a beetle centering a grey blister pearl, framed by rose diamonds, accented by cushion-shaped rubies, French import mark for gold; each unsigned.

Condition Report:
Each unsigned. Bangle and gold mesh necklace with maker's marks for Mellerio dits Meller. Bangle with French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Pendant and brooch with French import marks for gold. Pendant converted from a locket, original detachable ring for holding a miniature, photograph or glass still present. Seed pearls of white body colour with green and rosé overtones, minor blemishes to the nacre. Blister pearl of grey body colour with lavender overtones, blemishes and scratches to the nacre, with good lustre. Diamonds on bangle estimated to weigh a total of approximately 0.50 carat, of decorative quality. Diamonds on brooch estimated to weigh a total of approximately 1.00 - 1.20 carats, on average K-L colour, SI-I clarity, as gauged and graded in the mount. Micro-mosaic with losses and damage. Rubies purplish red of medium saturation, slightly included, abrasions to the facet junctions. Pronounced scratches to the metal consistent with age and wear. In good condition overall. Width of bangle approximately 20mm, pendant measuring approximately 40 x 25mm, brooch measuring approximately 50 x 25mm. Total gross weight approximately 82 grams.
