Mellerio dits Meller Collection of jewels, mid-19th century

Comprising: a cross-shaped pendant set throughout with half-pearls; a demi-parure comprising a brooch/pendant and a pair of earrings, each designed as a globe pierced by an arrow set with half-pearls, enhanced with black enamel and rose diamonds, French maker's mark; and a brooch set with circular-cut tourmalines and half-pearls, enhanced with black enamel; each unsigned, maker's marks for Mellerio dits Meller, French assay marks for gold.

Condition Report:
Each unsigned, maker's marks for Mellerio dits Meller. Brooch in the demi-parure with additional French maker's mark. French assay marks for 18 carat gold. Half-pearls of white body colour with green and rosé overtones, minor pitting and wrinkled skins to some examples, light blemishes to the nacre, with good lustre. Tourmalines reddish purple of medium saturation, moderately included, chips. Black enamel with minor areas of loss and damage. Diamonds estimated to weigh a total of approximately 0.30 - 0.50 carat, of decorative quality. Tarnish to the metal visible upon close inspection, light scratching consistent with age and normal wear, evidence of soldering to the brooch in the demi-parure. In good condition. Earrings with shepherd's hook fittings. Pendant measuring approximately 80 x 45mm, brooch measuring approximately 80 x 15mm. Brooch and earrings in demi-parure measuring approximately 45 x 35mm and 35 x 30mm. Total gross weight approximately 54 grams.
