The body lacks details, except for two pigmented vertical carvings on the neck. Made for ritual use, specifically involving the initiation of girls into womanhood. Measures approximately 11" x 8" x 9" (without base). In good condition with wear appropriate for age and use. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art.
