Mercedes 190 SL Roadster 1959 - German H-Zulassung - Restoration report - Becker radio - Rare colour combination The Mercedes-Benz W121 BII, or the 190SL, was manufactured from 1955 to 1963. The model, manufactured by Daimler AG, was introduced in 1955, intended to be a more affordable model than the well-known 300 SL. In 1954, a prototype was exhibited at the International Motor Sports Show in New York. This sparked a lot of interest among experts and enthusiasts. Karl Wilfert and Walter Häcker designed the 190SL with a souvenir of the 300SL 'Gullwing'. The car came with a 1. 9 litre 4-cylinder engine with an overhead camshaft. This Daimler-Benz car was imported to Germany from California in 1990. This is where the restoration took place. It continued up to the end of 1996. During the process of this restoration, the carburettors, ATE brake unit, master cylinder, bearings, the steering wheel, lighting and the wiring harness were replaced, along with many other things. The other parts that were replaced can be found in the restoration report. This 190SL features wonderful black paintwork combined with a tan beige leather interior, which gives the car a beautiful classic look. The original black soft top is made of heavy quality Sonnenland fabric. The interior is equipped with the rare and popular Becker radio. This car is in very good condition. Various photos and reports of the restoration process are available. A TÜV report is also available and the car comes with the coveted German 'H-Zulassung'. This Roadster is ready for a new owner! You are more than welcome to come and view the car in our showroom and take it for a test drive before you place a bid. This vehicle can be viewed and picked up in Oldemarkt, the Netherlands. We can also arrange export documents and transport for you. A two-week insurance is also possible!
