HISTORY/OVERVIEW
The Mercedes-Benz G-Class (G stands for Geländewagen, i. e. off-road vehicle) is a vehicle produced by the German company Mercedes-Benz since 1979 in various series. The G-Class is the longest-running Mercedes-Benz model in the history of the German company. Almost forty years after its launch, it is still in production and maintains its aesthetics almost unchanged, differing only in some details, but above all in the separate frame structure with longitudinal members and crosspieces. This example was built for the Austrian army as a reconnaissance vehicle and subsequently registered as a civilian vehicle. It retains its military hardware with all maintenance and provenance, and has recently been restored with some modern upgrades.

EXTERNAL
A complete repaint has just been completed in the original code 7323, matt, as per the original factory specifications. In the 2021-2023 period, many aesthetic accessories were installed such as: front and rear heavy-duty bumpers, widened fenders, front bullbar, protective grilles headlights, oversized mirrors, additional fog lights, xenon headlight kits, spacers and many other finishes and details.
A feeler gauge test revealed no accidents.

The underbody is preserved and in very good original condition, solid and with its factory finishes.

INTERNAL
The interiors have been converted and restored with a pair of more comfortable seats, soundproof rubber mats, custom-made door panels, dashboard kit with stereo speaker and rear camera, noise-reducing cabin partition. The electrical system has been totally overhauled. The hood was restored with new transparent side material, all the connections were replaced, the frame was sandblasted and repainted and reassembled.

MECHANICS
Mechanically the car has the original 300GD 4x4 engine, the most powerful expected at the time. It has been completely serviced and works well, the gearbox is agile and the clutch engages without problems, it does not require maintenance to be able to be used.

The list of original options is very long (see photo) and the kilometers are verified with the Austrian army maintenance manual supplied with the vehicle.

It is increasingly rare to find these G-classes in solid, original condition and with a known history in the Cabriolet version, they are a cult object that will never go out of fashion and an excellent investment
