Mercedes-Benz - 560 SL Type 107 - NO RESERVE - 1987

[ translate ]

We purchased this Mercedes 560 SL on a visit to the USA in California in early 2011. A registration number was issued by the Dutch National Road Administration in August 2021, with the car looking in tiptop shape, both the options as well as technically. The bodywork is entirely damage-free and is in original, well-maintained condition. The paintwork is in its original blue metallic colour, code 278. A few parts were repainted, and the work was done well and expertly. (Including the tailgate when the third brake light was removed, and the adhesive strip on the side) . The upholstery is in exceptional condition, the seats have been reupholstered as the leather had become hardened due to sun exposure. The woodwork has also been renewed. The whole is in nice and well-kept condition. The same goes for the convertible top, which had dried out and had a crack, necessitating its renewal as well. The dashboard, fitted with an odometer, shows a mileage of 106,000 km. Which is inconsistent with the actual kilometres/miles driven. The counter was converted from miles to km by the Apeldoorn-based firm KWS. According to supplied invoices, the mileage was 160,000 miles. Likewise, the outside temperature gauge has been converted from Fahrenheit to Celsius. The air conditioning, however, still requires attention. The tyres are by Vredestein, shorttrack 205/65 R15 94V. These are only 4,000 km old. Furthermore, the US bumpers have been replaced for European bumpers. Same with the headlights and tail lights. The engine runs quietly and steadily. Acceleration is smooth and trouble-free. The brakes have been checked and are in great condition. The chassis and associated technical parts, are original and in good condition. Reason for sale is owner's age, which posed problems with getting in and out. The daughter still enjoyed the nice weather, but now the time has come to sell the car. We invite you to come and view the car and test drive it to avoid disappointment. A recent valuation report is available. An appointment can be made via Catawiki.
