Mercury - Comet Caliente convertible - 1967 Restored - new 302 V8 5L engine - refurbished automatic - Belgian license plate The last model year of the Mercury Comet Caliente convertible. The car was sold new in Paris on 30-06-1967 to the then first owner, it is therefore a European version. The car was brought to the Netherlands by the current owner in 1987 and completely restored. A new engine was mounted two years ago, the original type 289 with 4. 7L was replaced by a modified 302 engine with 5L. The cylinder heads were adapted for driving with unleaded petrol. An electronic ignition was also fitted. The automatic gearbox was overhauled at the same time. The brakes were completely renewed and a new dynamo and starter were installed. The whitewall tyres are practically new. The electric soft-top works great. It only has slight signs of wear. The car has a radio/casette player and a CD-changer. The car comes with Belgian papers. We can supply the car with a Dutch registration if necessary. A photo album of the restoration and revision is available for inspection, as well as various invoices.
