An exceptional silver plated wine or Champagne cooler, circa 1900, measuring circa 22cm in height and weighing 2396g, with interior bottle holder that can be surrounded by ice. Decorated in low relief with humming birds, dragonflies and butterflies on a foliate ground between horizontal bands, with ornately cast handles depicting a parrot sitting on a garland. Marked to the underside with Meriden Silver Plate Co. Quadruple Plate and manufacturer´s logo.
Condition: A few shallow dents to the lower half, minor wear, otherwise good.
