Lambert and with letter of authenticity from Ancient Art Gallery, London UK. This lot comes from the private collection of Mr. J. Bahamonde who over a period of 20 years acquired his collection from various prestigious dealers and has now decided to downsize his beloved collection. His degree in ancient Near East and Roman Britain archaeology from Manchester University, one of the best in the U. K. and passion for ancient history is reflected in this intriguing ancient document. A rare Old Babylonian (1900-1700 BC) tablet with cuneiform writing on five sides pertaining to legal and administrative affairs according to note. A wonderful piece of the earliest form of ancient writing in the world. Length: 9 cm. Width: 5 cm. Condition: Good overall considering ancient age and material; the writing is very well preserved and neat on some sides, some ancient age related wear, mineral and soil accretion and evidence of repair.
