Mesopotamian Clay CUNEIFORM TABLET - (1)

Lenticular clay tablet with cuneiform writting. It was used to help scribes learn to write the Sumerian and Akkadian languages using the triangle-like cuneiform (literally, "wedge-shaped") script. To learn a word or sign, the teacher would write the form on the obverse, and the student would then repeat the exercise on the reverse. Such exercises were often completed on tablets that were small and round, easily fitting into the palm of a hand. | Akkadian writting on both sides. | 14th-13th Century B. C. Dimensions: 7,50 x 7,00 cm. Condition: Surface wear and earthen adhessions. Fine condition Provenance: Acquired in 2017. Ex J. F. Private Collection - Madrid. Acquired by inheritance. Family collection since 1970's-1980's. Notes: Due to Covid-19 situation and Goverment measures in Spain, the shippments could delay between 4 and 8 weeks.
