Western Asiatic Neo-Assyrian Fresco of an Archer 7th century BC A fresco fragment depicting an archer in an ankle-length striped robe with conical cap or helmet, bow over the shoulder and baton in the left hand; a prisoner at his feet. 10 kg, 41cm (16") . Fine condition. repaired from two fragments, fixed on a modern plaster frame. Provenance: From the private collection of a Canadian gentleman living in London; acquired circa 1984 and subsequently cleaned and mounted in a plaster matrix by Martin Foster around 1994.
