Messerschmitt - KR 200 - 1960

[ translate ]

It is a Messerschmitt KR 200 microcar, made in Germany from 1960.

It is a three-wheeled bubble car designed by aeronautical engineer Fritz Fend and produced in the factory of the German aeronautical manufacturer Messerschmitt from 1955 to 1964.

After World War II, Messerschmitt could not manufacture airplanes and focused on manufacturing other products. Fend approached Messerschmitt with the idea of manufacturing small Kabinenroller-type motor vehicles (scooter with a cabin) .

The KR 200 is a car that was successful due to its great design of an "airplane" type opening plexiglass dome.

I bought it in Germany about 4 years ago from its owner who had it for more than 50 years. It is registered in Spain as a historic vehicle and has its ITV and Spanish documentation in order. I also have the original German documentation: manual, purchase contract and other complementary documentation.

The car is well maintained and I use it on weekends. The exterior is in very good condition, the paint is very good and the exterior bodywork has its original lights and is in good condition. The dome is its original one, and is in perfect working order.

The interior is in good condition, with some signs of wear over time. The front and rear seats are in very good condition. The rugs are original. The speedometer works and so does the odometer. The watch in the photos is not the original, but I have the original.

The car has a 2-stroke Sachs engine and a 4-speed gearbox, both forward and reverse.

In March 2024, the motor was removed to carry out preventive maintenance, replacing the brushes. It doesn't leak and starts and runs properly.

It is delivered with the 2 original hubcaps and a set of 3 wheels with studded winter tires. It also has 2 sets of keys.
