A beautiful meteorite Achondrite HED (Eucrite melt breccia) NWA 13548, weight 764 g. A great opportunity to have a nice piece of an achondrite HED Eucrite melt breccia. A museum-worthy piece. Only forty-one pieces of these type of Eucrite have been currently found. Dark grey fragment with some melting crust. Petrography: the meteorite shows a dark grey inside and is a fused breach composed of basalt clasts up to 1. 0 cm in size and mineral clasts up to 0. 5 mm inserted into a matrix of black melted rock. The predominant minerals are exsolved pyroxenes, and often axle-shaped calcium plagioclase. The fine-grained and mostly recrystallized shock melt shows flow structures. Mineral granules in contact with the melted mass are partially reabsorbed. Minor stages include silica, chromite, ilmenite, Fe. S, zircon and metallic Iron.
