Meyer Lansky ALS from Israel! Ex. Lansky Family
ALS

ALS (Autograph Letter Signed) by Meyer Lansky, dated September 9, 1970, and addressed "Dear Sandra." Written entirely in Lansky's hand in dark ink, the letter is signed intimately "Love / Dad" and contains a postscript concerning "Gary." Of particular interest is the stationery itself: the sheet bears the printed heading "HERZLIYA ON SEA, ISRAEL, TELEX 69/12, TELEPHONE 331877," directly connecting the correspondence to Lansky's residence in Israel during this consequential period of his life. The letter has been retained with natural folds from mailing or storage and exhibits overall toning, scattered discoloration, and areas of staining consistent with age. Measures 8.5" x 11".

Accompanied by a signed provenance document from Gary Rapoport, grandson of Meyer Lansky, affirming the letter's direct descent and long-term preservation within the Lansky family. Additionally signed by autograph authorities John Reznikoff of University Archives and Luke Pascal of Historical Autographs Gallery.

It is worth noting that the "Gary" mentioned within the letter, is the same Gary who signed the certificate of provenance, Lansky's grandson.

He was particularly connected with gambling enterprises, including ventures associated with Las Vegas and pre-revolutionary Cuba.
