Michael Alice (American) 4 Works/Unknown Art Discovery
Michael Alice (American, 20th/21st c.) 4 Works, oil on canvas board, each signed. Unframed. Each Size: 10'' x 8'', 25 x 20 cm (board).
Michael Alice is a Philadelphia artist who left a large body of unsold work. When Alice’s sister dropped off her brother's paintings as a donation to Philly AIDS Thrift (PAT on 5th Street) she said he painted yet never sold nor exhibited his work. Alice's obituary reads: "Mike was an artist and could be found most days in his 'studio' working. He enjoyed gifting his paintings to family and friends. Although a man of few words, he was generous and kind-hearted." About 250 works were placed on the PAT shelves for the public to choose from. The current owner (a self-taught art collector) purchased the best of the available works.
