Louis XIII, known as "the Just", son of Henri IV and Marie de Médicis, born September 27, 1601 at the Château de Fontainebleau and died on May 14, 1643 at the Château Neuf de Saint-Germain-en-Laye, is king of France and Navarre from 1610 to 1643. His reign, dominated by the personality of Cardinal Richelieu, principal minister of state, was marked by the weakening of the great and the Protestants, the fight against the house of Austria and the assertion of French military domination in Europe during the Thirty Years' War. From his marriage to the Infanta Anne of Austria, he belatedly had two sons: the future Louis XIV, and Philippe, Duke of Anjou founder of the House of Orléans. The late birth of his first son was considered by the couple as "a gift from Heaven", and led the king to sign the vow of Louis XIII (consecrating the kingdom of France to the Virgin Mary) , even before the birth of the child.

Apart from the defects noted, copy in good condition.
