Michele Cascella (1892-1989) - Vaso di Fiori
Michele Cascella - Vase of Flowers - Author's Proof
In this lithograph Michele Cascella paints one of the most common themes of his artistic work: a lush bouquet of flowers collected inside a skillfully decorated vase. The vibrant colors of the flowers are wonderful, losing themselves in the blue of the sky. The work is part of a print run carried out in the 1980s, the so-called "author's proof" or "artist's proof" is carried out during the processing of the print run to reach the final result. They are usually kept by the Author himself for his own use, archive or for his exhibitions. An "artist's proof" is essentially an authentic but out-of-series copy. It was not created to be destined for trade, but when it enters circulation, it has a higher value, precisely because of its greater rarity.
Some imperfections due to age are visible on the edges of the work.
