Microcline var. Amazonite & Quartz var. Smoky Jack Rabbit Mine, Lake George, Teller Co., Colorado, USA "Bob Bartsch dug this specimen in the Jack Rabbet [sic] mine, it was an open pit operation, about a year before we did our dig there in 1986? [sic 1983]. He repaired the specimen and when he saw that I liked it he gave it to me with the understanding that I would give it back when I no longer had any use for it. A true friend. It consists of two big rabbit ears of smoky quartz with a few little amazonite crystals down at their base. It is a fine specimen." - Rock H. Currier I guess Rock had a "use" for it. Sorry, Bob. Unfortunately, neither of them has a use for it now, which is why it is up for grabs, so to speak. This is a significant bit of history for those who knew both of these characters - lifelong friends who field collected together whenever they could. Requiescat in pace. Overall Measurements: 3.7 x 6.9 x 2.6 inches (9.5 x 17.5 x 6.5 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Collected by Bob Bartsch in 1982 [RHC #6843, acquired 1982/3] [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
