Mid 20th C. Chinese Scroll after Xu Beihong w/ Horse

East Asia, Chinese, after Xu Beihong (Chinese, 1895-1953), ca. mid 20th century. A stunning sumi-e ink on handmade paper scroll painting depicting a galloping horse, a subject made famous by artist Xu Beihong. To the right is a calligraphic poetic inscription with a red chop below. This painting is mounted on a silk fabric woven with a floral pattern of blue and gold hues with additional fabric at each end presenting the same pattern in a tone on tone pale seafoam green hue, and the scroll is also furnished with lovely blue and white porcelain knobs. A wonderful traditional Chinese painting, presenting fine brushwork and mounted on a scroll to be hung. Size: painting itself measures 38" L x 20" W (96.5 cm x 50.8 cm); 65" L x 23.5" W (165.1 cm x 59.7 cm) including scroll fabrics; 65" L x 26.5" W (165.1 cm x 67.3 cm) including knobs
