Middle Paleolithic flint Axe
Fairly large biface with remains of the cortex made in the typical local flint of the Aisne.
Dating: Mousterian, 150,000-70,000 years old, H. Neanderthalensis.
Origin: Aisne region, Northern France, without exact location.
Wschl. Found in the local gravel pits along the Aisne River in the late 19th - early 20th century.
Slightly eroded patina. Intact except for some minor damage.
Dimensions 142 x 87 mm
