Mimetite San Pedro Corralitos Mine, San Pedro Corralitos,...
Mimetite San Pedro Corralitos Mine, San Pedro Corralitos, Mun. de Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico "A cluster of yellow botryoidal mimetite. Bought from Clayton Gibson. Repaired." - Rock H. Currier It is a rare occasion when a field collector chances onto something significant and doesn't blow it by blabbing about his find. Many trusting souls have returned to their prize hole only to find empty sardine cans and old newspapers occupying the space where the treasure formerly resided. Benny Fenn had heard tales of such treachery and trusting ignorance, and as a consequence, kept his lip zipped when he stumbled upon a veritable mother lode of golden Mimetite in the San Pedro Corralitos Mine. He carefully stripped the walls of anything vaguely of value and got it all home before announcing his good fortune to the world. The enduring value of the find isn't just in the luscious Mimetites that he 'rescued', like this lovely example, but in the enduring legend about a man who did it right. Overall Measurements: 3.9 x 2.4 x 1.4 inches (10.0 x 6.0 x 3.5 cm) Offered at no reserve Provenance: Bought from Clayton Gibson [RHC #1371, acquired 1969] MinID 2NW-W3U [Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
