Ming Dynasty Fine Cast Copper-Based Halberd-Eared Square-Bottom Furnace[Specifications] Height 10cm Width 16.2cm Ear Distance 23cm Weight 3.6kg[Inscription] Made by the owner during the Xuande Period[Details]There are relatively few square furnaces among the copper furnaces handed down from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, and most of them are horse troughs, tables, etc. This furnace is square-shaped, upright and beautiful, and is rare to be handed down. It is a model of furnaces made during the Yongzheng period. It has a flat mouth, a conical belly, a flat bottom, and four square conical feet. The foot ends are outward, solid and heavy. Halberd ears are on both sides, and the lines change with the curvature of the body, harmoniously symmetrical, adding a handsome look to the plain body. A square frame is opened in the center of the furnace bottom, which is very regular. Inside, the regular script "made by the owner during the Xuande Period" is cast, with deep ground and deep characters, clear and upright. After casting, it is carefully refined, with fine and even strokes, and round characters. Although it is a cast style, it deliberately pursues the style of seal making, which shows the intention and care. The whole body is eel yellow, which is the original skin, which is uniform and intact, which is rare. After years of careful maintenance, it is more moist, and feels fine and glutinous, which is wonderful. The copper exposed on the bottom of the foot is bright yellow and dense, which is fine copper. The inner chamber is finely polished, and the thickness of the wall is even. The lines are strong and curved, which is clean and crisp. If you add a point, it will be clumsy, and if you subtract a point, it will be ugly. The temperament is unconventional and elegant.
