Miniature Egyptian Faience Bead w/ Uraei

Ancient Egypt, New Kingdom period, 18th to 20th Dynasty, ca. 1549 to 1076 BCE. A miniature faience bead of an ovoid form with smooth peripheries, a lengthwise suspension hole, and layers of turquoise-hued glaze. One side of the bead features a quartet of uraeus cobras sprouting from a central oval, and the other side shows a minimalist depiction of the goddess Hathor between a pair of uraeus cobras. Size: 0.3" L x 0.2" W (0.8 cm x 0.5 cm).
Provenance: ex-private Orange, California, USA collection; ex-collection of Philip Mitry, noted antiquarian in Cairo before 1950
