A fine oil miniature after Anthony Van Dyck's (Flemish, 1599-1641) "Figlio di Carlo I," the portrait of a very young James II of England. The miniature is housed in an antique French gilt bronze sculptural frame, in the form of a cherub with a painter's palette standing before a cheval mirror, circa 1900. The miniature measures 3" x 2 1/2", and the frame measures 9" x 5" x 4".
